The Digilent Analog Discovery 2 was developed in conjunction with Analog Devices and is supported by Xilinx University Program. It’s a multi-function instrument that allows users to measure, visualize, generate, record, and control mixed signal circuits of all kinds. It’s small, it’s affordable, and it’s powerful. It’s useful whether you’re a student, hobbyist, or a general electronics enthusiast. The Analog Discovery 2 is eminently configurable, though it is designed to work with WaveForms 2015 (Mac, Linux and Windows Compatible) software. It can be connected to circuits via simple wire probes or the Analog Discovery BNC Adapter and BNC probes.

  1. Thank you Amber and thank you Digilent. I touch this product Analog Discover 2 in Turkey thanks to Mircea Dabacan, Cristina Dabacan and Emrah Issever from Beti Bilisim in Ankara. It’s a fantastic lab equipment for students and R&D staff with including a headphone output jack. Thanks again to Digilent’s and Xilinx’s developer team.

  2. This is an under-recognized product for what it provides at such a reasonable price. The Academic pricing
is even better – the unit can be had for the average price of a mid-range multi-meter. There is absolutely no better device for the exploration of Electronics. I recommend this to anyone who’s just starting out in electronics, enjoys it as a beginner hobbyist and/or is enrolled in an EE/Electronics related program/degree.

And with the ability to grab a free Analog Parts kit (Students) as well, this is too good to be true.

I applaud Digilent (and all other parties involved) for managing to get this into the hands of students at an affordable price. Now if I can just manage to scrap up the funds to have a merry Christmas myself, Analog Discovery 2, here I come – Ho Ho Ho.
