I thought I would make a fun, festive project in the spirit of Cinco de Mayo. (And of course, playing with LEDs is always fun.) So with that inspiration, I made an interactive circuit that plays La Cucaracha at the press of a button, accompanied by a symphony of red and green LEDs.
The circuit was very simple to put together and uses a transistor, a 10kΩ resistor, a pushbutton, a speaker, and a few LEDs and wires. I put it all together on the Electronics Explorer Board and most of the parts can be found in the Starter Parts Kit that comes with it. The song is played by sending a waveform to the speaker through WaveForms. Check out the video and have a great Cinco de Mayo!
