Welcome back to the Digilent Blog!
Inevitably, if you sell any sort of product or provide a service, people will have some sort of question for you. These questions can vary widely (all of the following questions I have definitely asked) from: “I ordered this product and it was broken in half on arrival, can I get a new one?” to “how can I reset my password?” and “does this service come with…?,” along with an infinite number of other inquiries. The tricky bit is knowing who to ask so you can get the fastest answer to your question. This blog post will detail the most common types of questions and where you should put your question to get it answered as soon as possible.
“I just placed an order on your website, but now realize I need to make this change with my order.” Any and all questions about your order can be made in your store account—simply log in to your store account, go to “My Account,” and then click on “View Messages.” From there, you can send Digilent a message about the order in question from the drop down list.
“I’m considering purchasing a few things, and am wondering what the total price would be with academic pricing?” Digilent is proud to be able to offer academic pricing to customers in the academic field. If you are only considering a few boards, feel free to sign up for academic verification here and place the items into your cart to get a total price estimate. If you are intending to order quite a few of a single board (say for a lab class you are teaching), you can also request a quote from firstname.lastname@example.org.
“I have received this product and would like to get started working on it; where can I find some additional resources or help? Can my product do this particular function?” We would love to be able to help you out! All of the materials that Digilent has created for our products are available on their individual pages on the Digilent documentation page (fondly known as “the Wiki”) — you can easily get to all of these pages by clicking on the Resource Center button on their product pages in the Store. If you’re wondering if your product is capable of a specific feat or meets a certain qualification, check out our Forum where you can get your questions answered by one of our applications engineers.
“I am a student at a university located outside of the USA, can I still qualify for an academic discount?” Perhaps you have a question that doesn’t seem to fit into one of the things listed above; it’s not technical, it’s not about your order, and you’re not finding any helpful links on the product page. If all of those end up being true, the Contact Us link at the bottom of the page under Help may be your best bet. However, it also doesn’t hurt to ask your question on the Forum under the Sales Questions if you feel that’s appropriate.
As I mentioned at the beginning of this post, there are an infinite number of questions that can come up when working with any company. What sort of questions do you find yourself asking when you go to an online store?
