What are some of the communication protocols commonly used in Digilent Pmods? Find out by watching our latest video, featuring James Colvin.

Communication styles will vary based on the Pmod and accomplish different things when talking to the primary board being used. The different protocols discussed are below.

  • Serial peripheral interface (SPI)
  • Universal asynchronous receiver transmitter (UART)
  • I2C
  • General purpose input output(GPIO) — this is not necessary a communication protocol, but Pmods under this category feature a lot of inputs and outputs.
