I am happy to work with distributors around the world to introduce Digilent educational kits and bring the latest technology to worldwide colleges. This summer, CoreEL Technlogies and Digilent organized five half-day workshops for educators and graduate teaching assistant at five different cities in India — New Delhi, Kolkata, Pune, Bangalore, and Chennai. I am honored to be invited by CoreEL Technologies to conduct the workshop.
I was so excited to see the audience’s willingness to adopt the latest technology in teaching. Once I introduced the current and potential uses of Digilent FPGA kits powered by Xilinx 7 series solutions and Analog Discovery featuring Analog Devices technology, educators immediately shared their plans with me to use these kits in the classroom.

The interaction with the audience was another unforgettable experience. When I and the engineers at CoreEL performed live demos of Digilent ZED and Analog Discovery, a number of the attendees instantly threw out ideas for innovative projects and others also jumped into the discussion. Eventually, the whole workshop became a think tank. I really love this kind of community and group effort to build up future technology. That is what Digilent and I want in both online and face-to-face classrooms.

My favorite part was the attendees’ recognition of Digilent’s mission — offering hardware for hands-on learning experience. It was great seeing everyone nodding their heads and being excited about the same thing.

Although it was a packed trip, I had an excellent time with the audience and received a lot of invaluable user feedback. These user experiences can drive continuous product and service improvements in the engineering education industry. And eventually, educators can make use of Digilent kits to make technology more understandable and accessible — and that is main reason why I like working at Digilent. It’s great when attendees come up to me and say that they learnt a lot of new technology in this workshop!

If you have a great workshop idea for international educators, let me know. I and Digilent distributors may hold a joint workshop in your country.
