Richard Wall: Using Timers with chipKIT Pro

We’re back with more of Richard Wall’s projects! Last week, we learned about finite state machines and using stepper motors with our microprocessors. We’ll use that information for┬áthis week, where timers are the focus.

From the oscillator to the timer interrupt flag.
From the oscillator to the timer interrupt flag.

The purpose of this project is to understand the operation of PIC32 timers so that they can be used to implement a synchronized multi-rate periodic control system by polling the timer interrupt flag. This project’s┬áconcepts are are built directly upon last week’s, where you designed systems that controlled the stepper motor direction of the shaft rotation and the step mode at a constant speed.

Keep checking back to the blog to learn more about cool ways to use microcontrollers!
