We’re back with more of Richard Wall’s projects! Last week, we learned about finite state machines and using stepper motors with our microprocessors. We’ll use that information for this week, where timers are the focus.
The purpose of this project is to understand the operation of PIC32 timers so that they can be used to implement a synchronized multi-rate periodic control system by polling the timer interrupt flag. This project’s concepts are are built directly upon last week’s, where you designed systems that controlled the stepper motor direction of the shaft rotation and the step mode at a constant speed.
