Turkey-Bots & Other Non-Traditional Ways to Celebrate Thankgiving

Thanksgiving is a holiday drenched in tradition and turkey gravy for most folks.  That got me thinking. So, I decided to meander through Google and I opened a search with two words.

  1.  ROBOTS
  2. THANKSGIVING

What I found surprised the heck out of me and made me smile.  Here are a few of the images I found.

For fun ideas to do while dinner is being prepared, make some quirky robots out of empty boxes & containers.  Add googly-eyes and fun pipe cleaners, and voila!  It’s a robot disco in your family room.

Who wouldn’t be thankful for a batch of cowboy robot cookies?  Yummy and darling!  If you’re looking for an idea on the healthier side, try out some snack pack robot treats or have the kids make simple apple turkeys to have as a snack a few hours prior to dinner.

If you want to add something new to the table try a quick and easy Fruit Turkey (shown below).  Edible art is so much fun!

My family always crowds around a 1000-piece puzzle or a board game after a traditional turkey dinner with all the trimmings but this year maybe we can pull out the big box of Legos and make a turkey!  If you want to try one or a simpler version look here.

I hope you enjoy time laughing with your family and friends this Thanksgiving.  Traditional or non-traditional, turkey or tofurkey, we all have a lot to be thankful for.
